Service Classes
UCSC makes it easier for students to provide service to the community while learning about the underlying issues of societal problems, such as homelessness, by providing courses that allow students to fulfill the university's general education and unit requirements*. Listed below are just a few examples of service learning courses that you may take at UCSC:
Kresge 12A -3 Units - Offered in Fall
"Students find a volunteer position with the instructor's assistance and perform community service in non-profit organizations, schools, unions, or local government agencies. Students meet weekly, keep a journal, and write a 'social action witnessing' report of their experience."
Kresge 12B -2 Units - Offered in Summer
