Spring Apartment Check-Out

How to Check Out of Your Kresge Apartment at End of Spring Quarter 2014:

  • All residences close at noon on Friday, June 13-- sharp! Anyone found in a residence after this time (without an approved extension) will be fined $100 per day! (If you have not yet filed for an extension, please do so by 4pm tomorrow, June 6 -- studenthousing.ucsc.edu.)
  • Before checking out, your space needs to be entirely cleared and cleaned. (You may be billed for any work or repairs that are needed after you have moved out.) A list of possible damage charges can be found online at housing.ucsc.edu/damages/
  • When have completely moved everything out of your space and cleaned, you will need to do a walkthrough of your space (if it is between 8am and 8pm) or you will need to prearrange an express check out (between 8pm and 8am). When you're ready to check out of your apartment, use the below chart to determine where you should go to checkout depending on the time of day.

  • To prearrange an express checkout, please e-mail me back indicating when you plan on checking out of your apartment (date and time) and what apartment you live in. I will contact you when your checkout packet is ready to be picked up from the Kresge Housing Office (you will need to pick this up during business hours prior to checkout). You should utilize the express checkout option if you plan on leaving any time between 8pm and 8am.
  • There is a $50 improper move out fee that will be charged to anyone who does not complete a walkthrough with a staff member or prearrange an express checkout.
  • All parking rules will be enforced over the week. Please pick up a 30 minute loading pass from us when you are ready to begin loading. Parking will be limited to those spaces in parking lots-- we will not be allowing cars to load in the meadow or on upper or lower streets within Kresge.
  • The final meal served at the dining facilities is brunch on Friday, June 13.
  • Please provide a forwarding address to the Kresge College Mail Room by June 13 by going to this form. Note: this only includes first class mail, which is not inclusive of magazines and other bulk processed mailings.
If you have any questions regarding this, please let me know.
Best,
Justin
